Exciting Financial Assistance News!

We are writing you with exciting news! In the recently passed state budget, Governor Holcomb and the Indiana General Assembly made educational options more affordable for families across our state.  Starting with the 2021-22 school year, students of Hoosier families whose household income meets the guidelines in the char below now qualify to receive financial aid to help cover the cost of private school tuition at the 90% level.

Parish Subsidy

If parents wish to send the children to a Catholic school but their own parish does not have one, they may choose to attend a school at another parish. School tuitions have two rates — one for parishioners (which is lower because the parish subsidizes the school) and one for non-parishioners (which is higher because parents are not donating to the parish which supports the school). Families from Holy Name of Jesus Church may attend a Catholic school of their choice and be billed at the lower “parishioner” rate while still remaining members of Holy Name. Our parish sends a subsidy to the school from our own parish budget to make up the difference. To receive the Holy Name of Jesus subsidy, families need to fill out a simple request form supplied by the school and bring that to the Holy Name office. We will verify that the family is indeed a member of our parish, that they attend Mass regularly, and that they contribute to the financial support of the parish. For more details please contact the parish office.
