Parish Council

The Parish Council strives to discern the movement of the Holy Spirit and determine what actions and programs are needed to make the Gospel known, in order to help the people on their spiritual journey.

The Parish Council is visionary. As a result of hearing and experiencing God’s Word, it brings a broader, more challenging vision to the parish life. In this sense it is prophetic. It strives to attack bigger issues within the church and in the world. The Parish Council represents the whole parish, not one group or area. The Council consists of up to twelve members. Membership on the Parish Council should reflect the cultural and racial make-up of the parish. It should also reflect gender and age diversity. Council members present candidates for discernment as new members with a three year term. The Pasrish Council makes decisions through consensus within the context of a discernment process. Through this prayerful process, the hopes and needs of the parishioners are brought together to formulate parish policy. The gifts, the experience, the insights and the expertise of the council members are called upon to provide vision and direction for the parish.
